Biography

Isma Javed is a Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore, where she develops advanced optical systems at the intersection of meta-optical engineering, computational imaging, and artificial intelligence. Her work focuses on metasurface-based photonic platforms, AI-enabled optical diagnostics, digital holography, and multimodal microscopy, with applications in biomedical imaging and healthcare technologies. She also contributes to the development of integrated photonic systems for point-of-care solutions, bridging device physics, nanophotonics, and data-driven system design.

Dr. Javed is an active contributor to the global optics and photonics community, having served in leadership roles within SPIE-ITU and participating in organizations such as Optica, IEEE, and AAAS. She is committed to advancing STEM education and mentoring emerging researchers.
