His research interests include: Agri-Photovoltaics (Agri-PV), Renewable Energy Systems, High Voltage Engineering, Energy Markets, Metamaterials & Bio Medical Optics, Characterization of Nanomaterials, Smart Grid Architectures.
Aqeel Rehman is currently pursuing his PhD in Electrical Engineering at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad. He obtained his Masters in Electrical Engineering from NUST and his Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Lahore.
In 2024, he was awarded the prestigious TRIL Fellowship at the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP), Italy. He has contributed as a Research Fellow in the NCRA-funded project at EME College, NUST, in collaboration with the Military Equipment Group (MEG), and has also worked on the HEC SRGP project in the High Voltage Laboratory at NUST. In recognition of his academic contributions, he received the NUST High Achiever Award in Electrical Engineering (2025).
