Biography

Dr. Isma Javed is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore (NUS), developing advanced optical systems at the intersection of meta-optical engineering, computational imaging and artificial intelligence. Her expertise spans metasurface-based photonic platforms, AI-enabled optical diagnostics, digital holography and multimodal microscopy applied to biomedical imaging and healthcare technologies.

She earned her PhD (2021–2025) and MS (2019–2021) in Electrical Engineering from ITU Lahore and her BS in Electronics Engineering from UET Taxila. She contributes to integrated photonic systems for point-of-care solutions and is active in the global optics community through leadership in SPIE-ITU and memberships in Optica, IEEE and AAAS, with a strong commitment to STEM education and mentoring.
